Our Story
Peter and Brecky grew up just a few zip codes apart - Peter in Fairfield, CT where he attended Fairfield Country Day School (FCDS) for middle school and the Canterbury School for high school, and Brecky in Riverside, CT where she attended Greenwich Country Day School (GCDS), and the Westminster School for high school. Despite this geographic proximity and a shared tendency to end up at the same kinds of places, their worlds didn’t officially collide until many years later.
Both eventually made their way to Elon University in North Carolina, where Peter was a proud Kappa Sigma brother and Brecky was busy making Phi Mu look good. They shared mutual friends, frequented the same parties, and moved in eerily similar circles, yet somehow, never met. In hindsight, it was probably for the best. College Peter and college Brecky might not have been quite ready for what was coming. (Though Brecky would later admit that her favorite parties were often at Peter’s house, she just didn’t know it at the time.)
Fast forward to 2022 in New York City, when the universe finally decided the time was right. They reconnected, this time for real, and something clicked. Despite Brecky making it very clear that she was a “busy bee” (which can be articulated as Brecky was politely trying to dodge another mediocre Hinge date), Peter didn’t let that stop him. Armed with confidence and a well-rehearsed arsenal of questionable pick-up lines, he managed to win her over.
The connection was instant. Sparks flew. Conversations lasted for hours. And in a move that shocked absolutely no one, except maybe Brecky (and her friend Katie that happened to be in the car with them), Peter blurted out “I love you” in a time frame that most people would consider… unconventional. Thankfully, it turned out the feeling was mutual.
Since then, their life together has been a whirlwind of laughter, love, and lots of travel. From the beaches of Florida to the islands of Greece, the coastal towns in the south of France, the bright lights of Las Vegas to the charm of Nantucket, Bermuda, and beyond, they’ve become expert travel buddies and even better teammates in everyday life.
In the summer of 2024, they added a third member to the crew: Millie, their miniature Bernedoodle, who instantly stole their hearts (and their spot on the couch). She is, without question, the other love of their lives, though her Instagram following remains a work in progress (follow Millie K in the City).
Now, Peter and Brecky are beyond excited to take on their biggest adventure yet: marriage. With a shared love of life, a healthy sense of humor, and a Bernedoodle-sized bundle of joy in tow, they can’t wait to build a family, make a home, and keep writing this story, one laugh, one trip, and one wild dance move at a time (see Peter’s leg turned into an air guitar by Brecky at the reception).
